The exhibit includes ambient soundscapes and links to digital bird calls. \nMore info: www.seekinganupwardthermal.com\n  \nYou are invited!\nThe Opening Reception is on Friday\, March 27\, 2026\, 5:00 – 8:00 PM\nThe exhibit will continue through May 5\, 2026\nThe Alexander House is open from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Sunday\, Tuesday\, Thursday or by appointment \n\nArtist Talk: Tuesday\, May 5\, 2026 at 1:30\nJoin us for a conversation with the artists.\n  Each will speak for about 15 minutes about their work\, inspiration\, and process\, followed by audience questions.\n\n  \n  \nSeeking An Upward Thermal\n\n\nBirds seek rising pockets of warming air\, soaring upwards on the current. These thermals lift and support flight. Like these avian aerialists\, we seek our own upward thermal. \nThree women artists present more than 50 interpretations\nin pastel\, gouache\, and beadwork sculpture. \nA multi-sensory experience fills space with sound and color.\nArtworks link to digital bird calls. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeries\nA Hollow-Boned Muse \nRoberta Condon presents 20 figurative paintings in pastel allowing us to escape to the restorative and magical interplay of humans with birds. \n\n\n\n\n\nSeries\nAt Home with Birds \nLorraine Ortner-Blake presents 20 paintings in gouache depicting birds\nas enshrined icons representing our natural liaison between earth and sky. \n\n\n\n\n\nSeries\nEndangered Species II:\nThe Raven Cries \nDebra Grall presents 20 works in beaded sculpture portraying the Raven warning of past and future extinction of birds if we do not care for the earth. \n\n\n\n\n
